Telegraph Passage, which appears as Telegraph Pass on this 1865 map, is located near the Skeena River. 1 The pass was named in 1865 in honour of the Collins Overland Telegraph to Asia that
was supposed to be built in the area; however, due to the effectiveness of the trans-Atlantic
cable, the project was deserted.2
