Sir,
I beg to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State in answer to your Letter of yesterday's date 1 that passage to Vancouvers Island has been ordered in the Freight Ship "Thames City" for Mr Hamley (Collector of Customs) and you shall be informed when he may embark, at Gravesend, as soon as it can be ascertained.
