Sir,
I beg to transmit herewith Letters Patent appointing Matthew Baillie Begbie Esquire to be Judge of the Vice Admiralty Court in British Columbia which have been prepared pursuant to Warrant of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty.
It being uncertainManuscript image what the emoluments accruing to that Gentleman may amount to, I have caused a Stamp for the lowest amount of duty to be affixed.
The Fees due to this Department, including stamp duty, amount to seven pounds, eight shillings and four pence (£7.8.4).
