Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 6th Ult:, 1 I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of Sir E.B. Lytton, that My Lords will not object to the Colonial rates of pay 2 to the Officers forming the Expedition to British Columbia, being Computed from the dates on which their services Connected with the expedition commenced in this Country. They also approve of the additional Rates of pay to the men employed on the Expedition as recommended by Sir E.B. Lytton.
They will be prepared to direct a furthertransferManuscript image transfer to be made to the account of Colonel Moody on behalf of the Officers, upon being informed of the amount that may be due to Each, if Sir E.B. Lytton thinks it advisable that such transfer should now be made to the Agents in this Country.
