Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 12th November, 1 I am directed by Secretary Major General Peel to transmit to you the enclosed copy of a letter from the Military Secretary to the General Commanding in Chief, from which it will be seen that independently of the objection taken by Sir E. Lytton to a compliance with the application in question from Colonel Moody, Corporal Spackman R.E. is in a state of health, at present, which would preclude his proceeding to join Colonel Moody in British Columbia.
