Bedford to Lytton
1858
My Lord
I beg to enclose for your perusal the testimonials, received from the various officers I have served under, at the time when in consequence of peace the reduction of the Army was intended, and I therefore intended to become a candidate for the Chief ConstableshipManuscript image of Warwickshire, as the reduction never took place I withdrew from the contest. I hope you will consider these sufficient to induce you to give me a letter of introduction to the Governor of New Columbia in the hope of getting employment there in the Constabulary or other service. I would have got fresh testimonials but my regiment the 92ndManuscript image Highlanders is now serving in India.
I have the honor
