Cadell to Lytton
Highbury Hill North
Augt 30 58 Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton Bart

Sir
I am very desirous indeed, with the view of securing immediate employment, to join Capt Parsons Compy leaving Southampton on the 2nd proxo. I sincerely hope therefore that you will be kind enough to mention the subject to Col Moody who is now aware of my position.
I can render essential assistance with reference to the disposal of the mining Population now in the Country, towards productive operations, & prevent their withdrawal from the Country.
Being familiar with the description of facilities required for the relief of the immediate necessities of the Placer Miners on Frazer River, Col. Moody will find me very useful at the commencement of preliminary operations.
I am Sir,
Your mo[st] obt Sert
P. Cadell
