I have the honor to report that in carrying out all the
authorized arrangements respecting Stores, finding minor
alterations were either unavoidable or desirable none of them of
sufficient moment to address the Secretary of State upon at the
time, but it is very necessary these alterations should receive his
final authority. I therefore beg to enclose an Amended List
which will be found to "tally" with the accounts & vouchers, & which
I would propose to forward with them to the Commissioners of Audit,
together with the one Covering Authority from theSecretary Secretary of State.
I have the honor to be Sir
Yr most obedient humble Servant
R.C. Moody
Col. R.E.
The Under Secretary of State
for the Colonies
Minutes by CO staff
Mr Elliot
This letter dated by Col. Moody on the
30th Octr was only received here on the 17 Novr &
has been since detained in the Dept for the purpose of comparing the
revised list of Stores he now sends with that already Sanctioned.
The alterations & additions are marked in pencil and I presume we
can only transmit it with a Copy of this letter to the War Office
stating that Sir Ed: Lytton proposes to sanction the alterations?
