Lytton informs Douglas that the Treasury has issued £1323 to Captain Parsons for the conveyance of himself and his Royal Engineers to British Columbia and that a further sum of £277 can be made available.

With reference to my Despatch No 40 of the 15th of
November

respecting the Bills drawn by Captain Parsons R.E. to defray the
expenses of the conveyance of the party of Royal Engineers under his
charge to British Columbia, I transmit to you herewith
the copy of a
letter from the
Treasury

stating that £1323 has been already issued on this account and that the
Paymaster will be authorized to accept Captn
Parson's Bills for a further Sum of £277 which will make up the amount
of £1600 for which he has applied.
