Lytton informs Douglas that the Treasury has authorised the payment of a bill for £40 "drawn by" Captain Parsons for travel expenses to British Columbia.

Sir,
With reference to my Despatch, No 49, of the 1st of December, 1 have to acquaint you that the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury have authorised the Paymaster General to accept and pay a Bill for Forty Pounds (£40) drawn by Captain Parsons, R.E. onaccountManuscript image account of the Royal Engineers proceeding to British Columbia under his charge.
