I have duly received your Despatch No 31 of the 14th March, referring to a letter from Captain Parsons RE proposing to assign a value of four shillings to the American Dollar in makingManuscript imagemaking payments to the Royal Engineers in British Columbia, and transmitting for my information and guidance the Copy of a letter from the Treasury defining the rates which should regulate the issue to the Troops, of United States Gold Coin, and your instructions on that subject shall meet withManuscript imagewith my careful attention.
