I have the honor to acquaint Your Grace that
Colonel Moody
commanding the Troops in
British Columbia has made requisition
upon me for Funds to meet the amount of Military Pay due to the
Royal Engineers for the months of
JulyJuly and August, and the amounts
of Working pay due to the Royal Engineers and Royal Marines for
the month of August, amounting in the whole to the sum of, in
round numbers, Three Thousand Pounds.
2. As the Funds in the Colonial Chest are insufficient to
admit of this demand upon them, I shall be obliged to draw for the
amount upon Her Majesty's Paymaster General, and I trust your Grace
will be pleased to obtain the necessary authority from the Treasury
for the Bills presented on
thisthis account to be paid when they become due.
