FitzRoy presents the Colonial Office with a year’s supply of forms for meteorological observations.
The minutes “acknowledge” and suggest that the forms be sent to British Columbia with the Attorney General.
Included in this document is a memo from FitzRoy to the Hydrographer, Admiralty, 16 February 1859, advising of "forms of tables" and "general instructions" for gathering meteorological
information; a list of forms forwarded by FitzRoy; and a draft reply from Merivale to FitzRoy, 10 March 1859, acknowledging receipt of letter and supplies.

Sir
In compliance with a requisition from the Admiralty I
have the honor to place before you one year's supply, for
three Stations, of such Instructions, and Forms for
Meteorological Observations as seem to me more or less
suitable for the objects indicated in the annexed Memorandum.
Various forms are offered to suit varying circumstances
of Observers.
A list is enclosed.
