Hamilton, on behalf of the Treasury, writes to Merivale to report that the Paymaster General has been “authorized to accept and pay bills drawn by the Governor of British Columbia through the Colonial Treasurer for the further sum of £1270 making a total of £2520.”

Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 10th Inst., I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you for the information of the Secretary of State that the Paymaster General has been authorized to accept and pay bills drawn by the Governor of British Columbia through the Colonial Treasurer for the further sum of £1270 making a total of £2520.
