With reference to the letter addressed to you from the Army Medical Department, numbers and dates as per margin,

and the statement enclosed herewith, I have the honor by direction of Mr Secretary Herbert to request that the sum of one hundred and sixty five pounds nineteen shillings and four pence (£165.19.4) may be paid into the hands of the General Agents, in order that it may be brought to the credit of this Office.

The War Office refer to three letters that have nothing to do with B. Columbia, but they omit to notice one, dated 4 July, enclosing an account for similar medical stores of £49.19. which has been paid. Perhaps it would be better before ordering payment, to point this out to the War Office lest we should pay twice for the same stores.
