I beg to acknowledge your letter of the 9th and enclosing a copy of a correspondence between the Colonial Department, the Governor of B Columbia and the Bishop of London respecting an appointment Manuscript imagemade by Governor Douglas under a misapprehension of the nature of a License held from the Bp of London by the Rev. W.B. Crickmer a Missionary of the Colonial Ch & School Society; and I have to express my thanks Manuscript imagefor the trouble taken by the Colonial Office in placing the matter upon a proper footing.

Will it not be enough if we send the Govr copies of the Bishop of London's & the Bishop of Columbia's Letters saying that we have nothing more to add to the desph already addressed to him on this subject.
