The Queen having been pleased to institute a Court of Vice Admiralty for the Colony of British Columbia, I transmit to you herewith Her Majesty's Commission as Vice Admiral of the Colony.
I also transmit to you Her Majesty's Commission to Mr Matthew Baillie BegbieasManuscript image as Judge of that Court.
The fees demanded by the High Court of Admiralty upon this last Commission amount to Seven pounds eight shillings and four pence: and you will require payment thereof from Mr Begbie and remit the amount to this office.

P.S. I transmit to you herewith, in order that they may be delivered to the Judge of the Vice Admiralty Court 5 copies of the Rules and Regulations touching the practice to be observed in Suits and Proceedings in that Court.
