Sir,
I have laid before
the Queen your despatch N
o 93 of the
5th of
February, expressing the desire that the name of the future Capital of
British Columbia should be selected by
the Queen.
I am commanded to
acquaint acquaint you that Her Majesty has been graciously pleased to decide that the Capital
of
British Columbia shall be called
New Westminster.
You will therefore designate the City by that name, and will
announce by Proclamation Her Majesty's decision to the inhabitants of
the Colony.
