I transmit to you herewith a copy of the Colonial Estimates which have been voted by Parliament for the year ending 31st March 1860, containing at page 4, a vote for British Columbia.
It is necessarythatManuscript image that I should point out to you that a large portion of this vote is intended to provide for expenditure incurred in this Country in connection with the Royal Engineer party, and that the amount of the Estimate represents the whole sum which the House of Commons has placed at the disposal of Her Majesty's Government on account of British Columbia, since the formation of the Colony.
