The claim for the freight of the various Colonial Office Stores which were conveyed to British Columbia in the "Thames City" having been received and examined in this Department, I beg to acquaint you, by the direction of their Lordships that, owing to the apparently very irregular manner in which the Shipment and delivery of these Stores were arranged by Colonel Moody, considerable difficulty has been experienced in the investigation of the claim.
