I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to accept & pay two Bills No 8 and 9 drawn by W.D. Gosset Esqre by command of the Governor of British Columbia for the sum of £1200.

There is a despatch in circulation saying that Bills for £2500 have been drawn by Capn Gossett [Gosset]. Perhaps these bills form a part of that sum.
