I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 5th Instant transmitting, by the desire of the Secretary of State, for the consideration of the Lords of this Committee, a Copy of a Proclamation issued by the Governor of British Columbia entitled the "Southern Boundary Act 1860," and, in reply, I am to request you to state to the Duke of Newcastle that My Lords see no reason why this proclamation should not be approved.
