Hamilton writes to Rogers, on behalf of the Treasury, to report that the “Paymaster General” has been authorized
to pay Douglas £450 for his salary as Governor for the quarter ended on March 31, 1860.
I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's
Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been
authorized to accept & pay a Bill for the sum of £450 drawn
by Mr J. Douglas, Governor of British Columbia, for Salary
in respect of the Quarter ended 31st March last.
