Hamilton writes to Rogers, on behalf of the Treasury, to report that the “Paymaster General” has been authorized to pay Moody's salary of £300 for the quarter to 31 March, 1861, for his work as “Commissioner of Lands & Works in British Columbia.”

In reply to your Letter of the 17th Instant, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay to Messrs Cox & Co on account of Col Moody, R.E., Commissioner of Lands & Works in British Columbia, the sum of £300 for Salary due to that Officer at the rate of £1,200 per annum for the Quarter ended 31st March 1861.
