Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge your letter of yesterday's date instructing the Crown Agents to pay the Paymaster General the sum of £6900 for Silver Coin supplied by the Imperial Government to British Columbia and to enclose for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle, copy of a letter received from the Colonial SecretaryofManuscript image of that Colony on the subject of that payment, and I have to request that you will favor me with His Grace's instructions whether the amount named in your letter above referred to should be paid, or the balance £5052.3.8 as requested by the Colonial Secretary.

Gentlemen,
I have the honor by directions from the Governor to forward to you herewith a Bill payable to your order for the sum of Six thousand pounds and I am to request that you will place the proceeds of the same to the credit of the Colony of British Columbia in it's account current with the Agents General.
2. I am to convey to you attheManuscript image the same time the authority of His Excellency to pay Her Majesty's Paymaster General on behalf of this Colony the sum of Five thousand and fifty two pounds three shillings and eight pence, the same being the balance due from the Colony on account of the undermentioned items:
