We have the honor to transmit a life Certificate dated 3rd October last showing that on that date Colonel R.C. Moody RE was performing his duties as Chief Commissioner of Lands and Works for British Columbia, and to request that you will be good enough to send us the necessary certificate from your office and move the Treasury to issue to the Paymaster General the authority for the payment of that Officer's salary, September quarter 1863.

According to the arrangement with the Treasury (see 7833 and 8591 B. Columbia) it will only be necessary to send to that Office the life Certificate, and request them to issue Col. Moody's Salary to Messrs Cox—and inform those Gentlemen that this course has been taken?
