Sir,
I have the honour to transmit to you the enclosed copy of a letter from the Board of Treasury as conveying the decision of Her Majesty's Government respecting the claims upon the Colony of £69.13.0 for the Bishop's passages and of £10704.16.7 for over draughts upon the Parliamentary aid for theManuscript image years 1859-60 and 1860-61.
I have to request that you will make the Bishop acquainted with the understanding upon which Her Majesty's Government has consented to waive the claim for his passages, and that you will either remit at once the sum of £10704.16.7 or authorize the Agents to pay it over to Her Majesty's Treasury out of the balance of the £50,000 which they have just raised on account of British Columbia.
