I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 49 of the 20th of August, forwarding the "Cooks Ferry and Clinton Road Bond Act 1863."
Before submitting this Act for Her Majesty's decision, I must request that you will supply me with a copy of the Indenture oftheManuscript image the 17th April referred to in it,

or of so much of it as relates to the conditions and periods of paying the Contractors.
I have also to request that you will at the same time inform

me why the price of constructing the Road has been raised from £8,500,
