With reference to Mr Birch's despatch No. 21 of 12th August, addressed in my absence, to the Duke of Newcastle, I have the honor to inform you that Captain Holmes, R.A. left New Westminster on the 19th instant to assume the duties of Colonial Secretary of British Honduras, to which Office he was appointed by His Grace.
