Sir,
I have the honor to report for the information of the Duke of Newcastle that under the authority of your letter of the 14th January last Mr Seymour, previous to his departure from this Country, selected furniture for the Government House of British Columbia at a total cost of £1239.11.2,andManuscript image and that the Crown Agents reimbursed him a further sum of £204.18.10, as authorized by your letter of the 17th Ultimo for the cost of furniture purchased by him, for his residence.
Just before his departure Mr Seymour enumerated the remaining articles necessary to complete the furnishing [of] his Government House, and as his requirements appeared reasonable (the additional articles consistingentirelyManuscript image entirely of bedroom furniture) the Crown Agents have complied with them at a further cost of £229.1.0, making a total of £1673.11.0.
