I have the honor to transmit to you the enclosed Copy of a Communication which was addressed by direction of the Secretary of State for War to the Governor of British Columbia on the 29th of January last requesting certain informationrelatingManuscript image relating to the accounts for the pay and subsistence of the detachment of Royal Engineers lately serving in the Colony.
Earl de Grey has informed me that no reply has yet been received to this communication. I have therefore to request that you will furnish me with a report on the subject.
