The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury have had before Them your letter of the 30th Ultimo enclosing a Copy of a Despatch from the Governor of British Columbia with an Ordinance—No 9 of 1865—to apply the sum of £225,946.12s.8d to the service of the year 1865, & Their Lordships desire me to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, that They will defer the consideration of this Ordinance until They have before Them the Estimates & other documents which should have accompanied it, & which the Secretary of State has called for.
