I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 75 of the 2nd of June last forwarding a transcript of an Ordinance passed by the Legislature of British Columbia in the month of April last and entitled "No 28 an OrdinancefurtherManuscript image further to facilitate the construction of the overland Telegraph."
I have laid before the Queen and I am commanded to inform you that Her Majesty has been pleased to confirm and allow it.
You will signify Her Majesty's decision on the Ordinance to the Inhabitants of British Columbia in the usual manner.
