Sir,
I am directed by Mr. Secretary Cardwell to transmit to you the Copy
of a Despatch which Governor Kennedy has addressed to him enclosing

this correspondence Mr. Cardwell wishes that you would be so good as to
peruse the papers I now enclose and furnish him with your report upon
the claim to which they refer.
