I have the honor to forward copy of a letter addressed to
               me by
Mr Crease, Acting on behalf of the Colonial Securities
Company, in which he applies for permission to be granted to

Mr R. Ker, the Auditor General of this Colony to become one
               of the Local Board
of
 of Directors of the Company.

               2. The option remained to me to allow a Public Officer to
become one of the Directors or to prevent the Company from
extending its operations to this Colony.

               3. The advantages to the Colony from the introduction of
Capital are so great that I have allowed
Mr Ker to act as a
Director until I have referred the matter for Your consideration.
               I beg to recommend that
Mr Ker be permitted to continue
in
 in the
direction for the period named in my reply to
Mr Crease.
