My Lord,
I observe by Mr Secretary Cardwell's despatch, Vancouver Island, No. 11, of 26th March 1866, that the Commissioners of Patents presented to the Government of this IslandaManuscript image a complete set of their publications.
2. These Volumes are now in the Mechanics Institute of Victoria where they are frequently consulted.
3. Would the Commissioners be disposed to grant another set of their valuable publications for the use of the Public Library at New Westminster, the capital of the Colony? It may be in your Lordship's recollection that Her MajestyrecentlyManuscript image recently presented a Volume containing the principal Speeches of the late Prince Consort to the excellent institution in whose favour I make the present appeal.
