Hudson's Bay Company I have the honour herewith to transmit
for the information of the
Earl of Carnarvon, copy of a
letter to me from
William F. Tolmie Esquire one of the
Company's Agents at
Victoria,
Vancouver Island, together
with copy of a correspondence which has lately taken place
between
the the
Honorable N. Birch administering the Government
of
British Columbia and the Board of Management relative to the illicit
liquor traffic with Indians on the North West Coast of America.
