Sir,
I have had the honor to receive your letter of the 4th instant informing me that Mr Secretary Cardwell will give instructions for the payment in British Columbia of the difference of my salary at the old and new rate for the interval between the 11th of April 1865 and the 31st of August on being made acquainted with the name of my banker in the Colony.

In reply I beg leave to state that I should wish the money to be paid to my Attorney, Mr D.M. Lang, Manager of the Bank of British Columbia, Victoria, Vancouver Island.
