Sir,
I have the honor to transmit to you the accompanying copies of correspondence between the Crown Agents, this Department and the Board of Treasury respecting the temporary investment by the Agents of certain funds in their hands belonging to your Government,andManuscript image and not immediately required for the service of British Columbia.
You will perceive that the Crown Agents have been authorized pending the consent of your Government to invest a sum of £15,000 in the Joint Stock Banks referred to in the accompanying letter from the Board of Treasury respecting the investment of Funds belonging to the Colony of Ceylon.
You will be good enough to answer this despatch by the earliest opportunity.
