Sir,
I have the honor to transmit to you for any explanation you may have to offer a copy of a letter with its enclosure from the Governor of the Hudson's Bay company, complaining that through the action of the GovernmentofManuscript image of British Columbia the Company are subjected to the payment of duties on liquors and other goods brought from Vancouver Island, which are not exacted with equal strictness from other Traders.
