               I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatches No.
               28 of the 
3rd of April enclosing an Ordinance No. 4 to apply a sum of
               Seven hundred and twenty two thousand one hundred and fourteen dollars
               and five cents out of the
General
 General Revenue of 
British Columbia to the
               Service of the year 
1866, and No. 31 of the 
2nd of April enclosing an
               Ordinance No. 11 granting a Supplemental Supply of Thirty two thousand
               four hundred and fifty six pounds, seven shillings and five pence, to
               the service of the year 
1864 and 
1865 respectively.
               
               I have laid these Ordinances before 
The Queen and I have to
               acquaint you that Her Majesty has been pleased to approve and sanction
               them.
               
 
 
            
            
               You will cause Her Majesty's decision to be made known to the
               Inhabitants of the Colony in the usual and most authentic manner.
               
            
            
               These Ordinances were referred by my Predecessor for the
               consideration of the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, and I transmit
               a copy of their Lordship's reply for your future guidance in regulating
               the expenditure of the public Money.
               
            
            
               I have to request you to furnish me with the financial returns
               referred to
in
 in this Letter, as well as the explanation required by their
               Lordships respecting the expenditure under the heads of Administration
               of Justice and Transport Services.
