I have the honor to transmit to you with reference to previous correspondence on the subject, the accompanying copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Vancouver Island respecting the sale by Traders of Spirituous liquors to Indians in the PeaceRiverManuscript image River and Athabasca districts.
It will be one of your earliest duties to consider what measures should be adopted to check so grave an evil.
