My Lord,
I have had the honor to receive Your Lordship's despatch
No. 16 of the 16th of February, on the subject of the sale
of Spirituous liquors to the Indians in VancouverIslandIsland.
2. I have much pleasure in informing you that without
making the matter a Government question, I have succeeded in
extending the Indian liquor law of the Mainland over the whole
Colony of British Columbia.

The extending the Indian Liquor Law to all B. Columbia—that
is including Vancouvers Island and the mainland. Law is
satisfactory—& has been accomplished in a satisfactory manner.
I suppose the Hudson Bay Company should be informed
of the fact. See end of your minute on 12130.
