No. 71
24th April 1867
My Lord,
With reference to my despatch No. 60 of 10th April, I have now the honor to state that I have entered into a contract with an American Steam Packet Company for the Conveyance of the mailsbetweenManuscript image between San Francisco and Victoria every twenty days. The engagement is however only for six months and the cost is seven hundred and fifty dollars a trip.
2. This temporary arrangement does not however weaken the earnestness of my appeal to the Imperial Government for some assistance in this matter.
I have the honor to be,
My Lord,
Your most obedient,
humble Servant
Frederick Seymour
