My Lord Duke,
I telegraphed to Your Grace's predecessor on the 11th March,
"Can provision be made in the Bill before Parliament for theultimate

2. I have the honor to enclose Copy of a Resolution passed by
the Legislative Council in favor of negotiations being entered into
for the union of this Colony with the Eastern Provinces of North
America.
3. I have made some remarks on this subject in a 'Separate'

From this it appears that on the 20 March last the Council
passed a Resolution in favor of admission which however Govr
Seymour only now sends home, tho' in his March telegram he said he
would write.
