by Lord Lyttleton respecting Mr C.W. Franks, late Treasurer of
this Colony, and of my reply.

Lyttleton to Seymour, 24 July 1867, requesting a favourable letter
be sent to the colonial office on behalf of Franks who had been denied
employment due to Seymour's reports.
Seymour to Lyttleton, 24 September 1867, advising that the temper
exhibited by Franks on various occasions made it impossible for him to
recommend that gentleman for further colonial service.
