Sir,
In reply to your letter of 15th Instant, I am commanded by the Lord's Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay the Bill drawn by the Governor and Treasurer of Vancouver Island, for the sum of £1500, for Pay &c of Royal Marines in San Juan Island.
