Treasury Chambers
5 Novr 1867
Sir,
I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 29th October last inclosing a despatch from the Governor of British Columbia respecting the disposal of Crown Revenues in Vancouver Island.
My Lords request that you will inform the Duke of Buckingham & Chandos that they are unable to gather from this further correspondence the reasons why Governor Kennedy in the year 1866 caused all Fines, Fees, and Forfeitures to be carried to the credit of Crown Revenue; but, as Governor Seymour states thattheManuscript image the arrangement works satisfactorily, My Lords in the absence of full information on the subject, see no reason for altering it.
I am,
Sir,
Your Obedient Servant,
George Ward Hunt
