I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 44 of the 18th March in reply to my Predecessor's Despatch No. 21 of the 16th November 1866 addressed to Governor Kennedy desiringfurtherManuscript image further information as to the circumstances under which certain public monies had been expended without Legislative sanction.
It is to be regretted that the state of the Public Accounts in Vancouver Island should have compelled you to defer to another Session the introduction of a Bill of Indemnity in the Legislative Council.
