Sir,
I transmit to you for your information and guidance, and with reference to your despatch No. 93 of the 16th August, a copy of a letter from the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, enclosing copy of the instructions issued in 1864 to the Admiral in the Pacific ontheManuscript image the subject of detaching a force from the Ships under his Orders in the event of disturbances arising in the interior of British Columbia.
